a) Silo Update
i) Ted Halwa reported that Richardsons, the former owner of the silos, has a grant programme that may be a source of funding for keeping a silo. They have application forms that require a non-profit organization’s request. It was suggested that if such funding were found, Central Elgin may be more agreeable to saving the silo.
PSVA does not have non profit status but it was decided that Ted could make the application anyway.
b) Membership Renewals
i) Janet is working on the membership. Once the list is complete, the request for renewals will be emailed out. Those who do not reply will be divided amongst the directors so they can contact the membership to encourage renewals.
c) Ministry Fish Inspection Building
i) There has so far been no reply to the letter sent to the ministry requesting that the fish inspection building be painted.
d) Comments of Councilor Dan McNeil
i) Dan described Wibit, a floating water park that will be at the main beach this summer.
ii) The Central Elgin website has the harbour plan posted on it for those who want to know about the plan.
